Survive the Bayou: Ultimate Cajun Experience

What an incredible few days in South Louisiana. The Ultimate Cajun Experience was everything we hoped it would be and more—hunting, fishing, incredible Cajun food, camaraderie, laughter, and most importantly, an opportunity to get away from everyday life and simply enjoy the outdoors. A very special thank you to Jett Cruz Farm and our amazing hosts who welcomed us into their homes and my Big Brother for the seafood boil. The hospitality we received throughout this trip from the hosts and local community was second to none. You didn’t just give us a place to hunt and fish—you helped create an experience and memories that will last a lifetime. Over the course of the trip, we were blessed with harvesting 3 alligators ranging from 6’4” to 9’4” along with multiple fish and wild seafood caught. And you can’t have the Ultimate Cajun Experience without the FOOD! We enjoyed an incredible variety to say the least, shrimp and crab boil, seafood platters, jambalaya, boudin and étouffée throughout the trip. But this experience was about much more than what we harvested or caught. It was about slowing down, enjoying nature, building camaraderie, sharing stories, laughing together, and getting away from the stresses of everyday life. From beginning to end, this trip was therapeutic in every sense of the word. A huge thank you to Ryan Cooley for joining us on this adventure and embracing everything we threw his way. Ryan, we hope you returned home with some great stories, great memories, and a renewed spirit.
